Driver Bubble™ and FixiCover work together to bring TfL approved partition screens to the London & UK market

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, November 5th, 2020 – As of 5th November 2020, a new version of the Shield standard, distributed by Driver Bubble™ and manufactured by FixiCover, is now fully compliant and approved by Transport for London (TfL).

As an official reseller, Driver Bubble™ are offering the Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield (made by Fixico) on the Driver Bubble™ online store.

To meet the legislative and automotive standards the partition screen was subjected to impact, light, fire and chemical resistance tests. Driver Bubble™’s supplier, FixiCover, has taken the necessary measures to receive approval from TfL for a new version of the Driver Bubble™ Shield Standard.

Following the approval, the Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield can be used in London and Greater London with full compliance by TfL for the following vehicles:

  • Toyota Corolla (Hatchback; Estate and Sedan models) (January 2019 onwards)
  • Toyota Auris (May 2015 onwards)
  • Toyota C-HR (2016 onwards)
  • Toyota Prius (2010 onwards)
  • Toyota Prius Plug-in (September 2016 onwards)
  • Toyota Camry (September 2017 onwards)
  • Toyota Camry (April 2018 onwards)
  • Lexus UX (October 2018 onwards)

For drivers outside of the London and Greater London area, the Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield can be purchased knowing that the product is certified by TfL and can be assured that the Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield is made of the highest quality materials and complies with various testing requirements. Alternatively, customers outside of the London and Greater London area can purchase the Driver Bubble™ Shield Standard (without full TfL approval), as it has been manufactured from the same materials as the new TfL approved version.

Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield covers 90% of the surface area between passengers and drivers, greatly reducing the potential for disease transmission. The screens are transparent and it allows passengers to still feel seen and acknowledged, while providing peace of mind for all in the vehicle. The screen is easy to install (and remove) without causing any damage to the interior, and the material is 250 times stronger than glass and fire retardant. In addition, the transparent screen is entirely suitable for contactless payments, does not hinder driver-passenger communication, nor does it close off AC-airstream flows completely.

Thomas Kruyne, Director of Driver Bubble™, said “we started offering the partition screens to help protect drivers and their passengers and to stay connected to one another. Our screens provide a safer and more secure way of providing rides and getting people from A to B. We are thrilled with the TfL approval and we see this as another step to assist drivers across the UK to get back to the road and support local communities.”

Easy to clean, simple to install and affordable, Driver Bubbles allow every passenger and driver to feel safer, more connected and empowered to travel again.
