The new Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield (made by Fixico) is now available
As of 5th November 2020, a new version of the Shield standard, distributed by us, is now fully compliant and approved by Transport for London (TfL).
As an official reseller, we are offering the Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield (made by Fixico) on our online store.
To meet the legislative and automotive standards the partition screen was subjected to impact, light, fire and chemical resistance tests. Our supplier, Fixico, has taken the necessary measures to receive approval from TfL for a new version of the Driver Bubble™ Shield Standard.
Who are Fixico and Fixicover?
What has changed in the new version of the Shield?
To receive approval from TfL, one key change was made to the Shield. The upper left and right corners of the screen have been replaced with a different, more flexible material so that side airbags can be deployed successfully in the event of collision or accident.
Which vehicle models is the Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield approved for?
Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield (made by Fixico) is fully approved and tested in the following vehicles:
- Toyota Corolla (Hatchback; Estate and Sedan models) (January 2019 onwards)
- Toyota Auris (May 2015 onwards)
- Toyota C-HR (2016 onwards)
- Toyota Prius (2010 onwards)
- Toyota Prius Plug-in (September 2016 onwards)
- Toyota Camry (September 2017 onwards)
- Toyota Camry (April 2018 onwards)
- Lexus UX (October 2018 onwards)
- Mercedes E-Class W213 (2017-2021)
Approvals for other makes and models are expected to follow soon.
What does this mean for Driver Bubble™ customers?
For you, our customers and potential buyers, the approval means that the Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield (made by Fixico) can be used in London and Greater London with full compliance by TfL for the vehicles mentioned above.
For customers outside of the London and Greater London area, this means that you can buy the Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield (made by Fixico) knowing that the product is certified by TfL and can be assured that the Driver Bubble™ FixiCover TfL Shield (made by Fixico) is made of the highest quality materials and complies with various testing requirements.
Alternatively, customers outside of the London and Greater London area can purchase the Driver Bubble™ Shield Standard (without full TfL approval), as it is has been manufactured from the same materials as the new TfL approved version.
